Sculpture is a process of discovery in which form and truth are revealed in a dynamic exchange between sculptor and stone. I am interested in uncovering that which is concealed, the story that unfolds as I carefully remove each layer of stone. My aim is to discover and give voice to emotions that are evoked in each encounter.
I have spent a lifetime working with sculptural forms. Over the years, I have developed a curiosity and willingness to take risks that is tremendously rewarding. The result of this alchemy is always original and evocative, an authentic expression of both the stone and myself and our influence on each other.
My sculptures are original, often large-scale pieces that capture the imagination and elicit deeply felt emotional responses. The process of uncovering and honoring the unique qualities of each stone limits the number of works I can produce each year and ensures that each sculpture is a remarkable and rare work of art.
Inquiries from private collectors, galleries, dealers, designers and architects are welcome.
Forms In Stone
My sculptures are original works of art in stone and bronze, each one a unique exploration of form and texture that emerges from my interaction with and understanding of the stone itself.
Working with massive stones requires great skill, patience and no small measure of strength and creativity. I enjoy the challenge of discovering the story that each stone has to tell and the process of revealing it.
I invite to you explore some of my work, much of which has sold and is on display in private collections. A limited number of sculptures are available for sale. Commissions are considered on an individual basis.

Function In Clay
Working with clay is much more immediate than stone as it gives me the ability to constantly manipulate the shape and form of each piece as many times as I feel the need. However, I always start out with a particular design in my mind’s eye.
Adding the glaze and firing the pottery brings each vessel to life. There are a multitude of variables within my control that allow me to predict how a glaze might turn out, but I truly enjoy the unpredictable effects that Raku produces.
My pots and works of clay are available for sale. Commissions are considered on an individual basis.
“My aim is to approach each stone with respect for its unique qualities and to bring to each sculpture, my understanding and appreciation of form, my sensitivity to the emotional potential, and my willingness to explore and expose both myself and the stone in the process. Each stone presents a new and separate experience for me.”
